A journalist-turned-grant writer, this is a collection of my writing as a reporter at the Keene Sentinel in Keene, N.H. Before becoming the Sentinel’s editorial page editor and lead editorial writer in 2012, my primary beat reporting focuses were crime and courts, health, and local military and veterans issues.

As a reporter for the Keene Sentinel, I embedded in Iraq with a New Hampshire-based Army Reserve unit during their deployment in November 2010. A reporting blog from that trip can be found at missioniraq.wordpress.com.

A 2005 graduate of Emerson College, where I majored in print journalism and minored in political science, I served as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching English in Turkmenistan from 2005-2007. I currently work as Grant Manager/Writer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire.

Thanks for taking a look at my blog and if you have questions, please feel free to contact me at casey.farrar@gmail.com. All articles are copywright of the Keene Sentinel.

  1. Good for you. I’d love to have a blog when I finsih graduate school this May. By the way, I started my Graduate work at Emerson.

    • Sorry I’ve been so behind. I recently updated my blog with about four months of past stories, so you’ll have something to mull through when you’ve got the time.
